Job Duties Include:
-
Supports the mission, policies, and procedures established by Ohio County EMS.

Provide Emergency care to patients as necessary, following local medical care protocols.

Observes patient clinical signs and symptoms and communicates these effectively to receiving medical facility of higher level of Pre-Hospital Care.

Completes all required documentation for each patient/activity/run performed and turns in all run forms and associated paperwork within the time frame specified in agency policy.

Assists in, and manages special projects as directed by Service Director.

Interacts professionally with 911 dispatch and adheres to all communications protocols.

Maintains a clean, safe, and well stocked Ambulance during their shift. Completing All shift Check documentation prior to end of the assigned shift.

Assist Paramedic in Advanced Life Support procedures as directed.

Responds promptly to all Emergency and Non-Emergency runs, Adhering to Service policy regarding In-Service times.

While On-Call, Responds to assigned Station within 30 minutes of call and adheres to all policies regarding On-Call Duty.

Acts as a preceptor for new employees and EMT-P students while adhering to set Policy for a preceptor site.

Provides Advanced Life Support in Emergency and Non-Emergency situations According to established Medical Protocols

While On-Call, Responds to their assigned Station within 30 minutes of being notified and adheres to all On-Call policies.
Requirements:
An Emergency Medical Technician must have completed an Approved EMT course and possess a valid Kentucky EMT-B card That is in good standing with the Kentucky EMS Branch. Also must possess a current Healthcare Provider CPR Card.
