Farm Hand – Job Responsibilities
At Eagle Eye Farm, our farm hands are more than just caretakers — they are an essential part of the guest experience and daily operation of the farm. This role requires hard work, flexibility, initiative, teamwork, and a genuine passion for both animals and people.
This is a physically demanding, fast-paced position that requires employees to stay busy, take pride in their work, and step in wherever needed. Every team member plays a role in caring for the animals, supporting guests, and maintaining the high standards of the farm.
We are ideally looking for individuals interested in a long-term position rather than temporary employment. We value team members who want to grow with the farm, build experience, and become an important part of our team.
Animal Care & Health
- Feed, water, and provide daily care for all animals including alpacas, llamas, mini cattle, kangaroos, pigs, sheep, chickens, rabbits, and others.
- Monitor animals closely for signs of illness, injury, labor, or behavioral changes and promptly report concerns.
- Assist with routine health checks, veterinary care, vaccinations, and medications as directed.
- Support breeding and birthing seasons through observation, handling, monitoring, and record keeping.
- Clean and maintain barns, stalls, pastures, and animal enclosures to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
Guest Experience & Tours
- Welcome visitors with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Lead educational, interactive, and engaging farm tours and animal encounters.
- Create a fun, safe, and memorable experience for guests of all ages.
- Assist guests throughout their visit and ensure excellent customer service at all times.
- Help monitor guest safety around animals and farm equipment.
Farm Grounds & Maintenance
- Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing farm grounds.
- Perform landscaping duties including mowing, trimming, weeding, snow removal, and seasonal cleanup.
- Assist with fencing, barn maintenance, repairs, and general farm infrastructure projects.
- Keep workspaces, storage areas, and equipment clean and organized.
Teamwork & Daily Expectations
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure all daily tasks are completed efficiently.
- Be willing to step in wherever needed, especially during busy events, weekends, and birthing season.
- Stay productive throughout the shift and actively look for ways to help without needing constant direction.
- Take initiative, problem solve independently, and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with coworkers, guests, and management.
- Help train and support newer employees when needed.
Marketing & Social Media Support
- Capture photos and videos for social media and promotional content.
- Participate in videos, events, and content creation as requested.
- Represent Eagle Eye Farm positively both online and in person.
Business & Event Support
- Assist with farm store operations and promotion of farm products including honey, alpaca goods, and skincare products.
- Help set up, manage, and clean up events, workshops, tours, and special experiences.
- Represent Eagle Eye Farm with professionalism, energy, and enthusiasm at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous farm, livestock, animal care, agriculture, or customer service experience is required.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and performing physical labor.
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, stand, and remain active throughout the workday.
- Reliable, punctual, self-motivated, and willing to learn.
- Comfortable interacting with the public and providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a team.
Scheduling Requirements
- Flexibility is required.
- A minimum of every other weekend is required.
- Typical shifts are 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Must be able to work the entire shift.
- Must be able to work during the week.
- Looking for someone to work 4-5 days a week
- Additional hours may be required during events, birthing season, emergencies, or peak farm periods.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
