Responsibilities:
- Design custom assemblies utilizing a variety of materials [typically foams, hard plastic, and aluminum], fasteners, and off-the-shelf containers
- Create documentation and build plans for a designer's own work
- Interface with customers and sales to identify the important parameters of the design and discover the ideal design intent
- Collaborate with production staff to help troubleshoot designs or add clarity to build plans
- Continued creation and maintenance of an extensive design library
- Limited operation of machinery required of our production process [mainly waterjet]
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education or on-the-job training with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD program
- 1+ year's experience in manufacturing, whether it be hands-on in production or in design
- High school graduate, minimum, with an aptitude for math
- Computer-literate; someone who can learn programs new to them with relative ease
- Personable and effective communication skills; someone who is comfortable working/communicating with all departments within the company and with customers
- Good spatial awareness
