Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in selecting deli products and provide recommendations
- Prepare and serve deli items such as sandwiches, salads, and hot food items
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are followed at all times
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process customer transactions
- Maintain a clean and organized deli area, including restocking supplies and cleaning equipment
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise
- Upsell additional deli items or promotional offers to customers
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and guidelines
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and calculating weights and measures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
- Familiarity with retail math for pricing and inventory management
- Culinary skills for preparing and presenting deli items in an appealing manner
