Position Summary
The Maintenance Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all production equipment, plant facilities, and supporting infrastructure in a cabinet manufacturing environment. This role leads preventive and predictive maintenance programs, manages maintenance personnel and vendors, and drives continuous improvement to minimize downtime and support production performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for woodworking machinery, CNC routers, finishing equipment, dust collection systems, and other plant assets.
- Downtime Reduction: Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to minimize unplanned downtime and maintain production flow.
- Team Leadership: Supervise maintenance technicians and custodial staff; provide training and enforce safety protocols.
- Facility Management: Oversee building systems (HVAC, lighting, plumbing), utilities, and grounds to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
- Vendor & Contractor Coordination: Manage relationships with service providers for specialized repairs, inspections, facility upgrades, and solid and chemical waste stream removal.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to OSHA, NFPA, and environmental regulations; maintain documentation for audits and inspections.
- Budget & Inventory Control: Prepare and manage maintenance budgets; maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement lean maintenance practices and reliability-centered maintenance strategies to optimize equipment performance.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop contingency plans for equipment failures, power outages, and facility-related emergencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment, preferably woodworking or cabinet production.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machinery, woodworking equipment, dust collection systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and finishing processes.
- Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong Safety background.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability practices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize under pressure.
Working Conditions
- On-site presence required; exposure to woodworking and finishing environments.
- May require after-hours availability for emergencies or scheduled maintenance shutdowns.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
