Job Overview

Duties
- Assist dentists with expanded functions procedures such as coronal polishing, sealants, and temporary restorations, adhering to all clinical protocols.
- Operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other advanced imaging tools to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
- Prepare and process dental instruments in accordance with sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while ensuring compliance with radiation safety standards and HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
- Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and utilizing patient management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Provide chairside assistance during procedures involving oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to ensure patient safety throughout treatment sessions.
- Maintain clinical cleanliness by following aseptic techniques and infection control policies aligned with healthcare standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for accurate medical documentation and record keeping.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures to support effective communication within the team.
- Expertise in dental sterilization procedures, instrument processing, and infection prevention management to uphold clinic safety standards.
- Experience with dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside support for various specialties like oral surgery or endodontics.
- Must be able to place filling
- Experience in assisting during implant placement a plus
- Ability to operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners, medical imaging devices, and patient management software efficiently.
- Excellent understanding of healthcare infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and clinical confidentiality policies (HIPAA compliance).
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members such as dental receptionists and other clinical staff while delivering outstanding patient care.
