Location/Work Environment:
Our state-of-the-art facility is in Greenfield in the Salinas Valley in Monterey County, CA. The systems that are the cornerstone of our success are top of the line and are based on optimal efficiency and ease of use for its employees. These systems include rolling tables and automated irrigation systems designed and installed by the industry's leading agriculture professionals. Along with our high-performance systems and efficiency comes our goal to maximize our footprint using every available square foot available of our nearly 300,000 square foot facility.
Job Summary:
As a maintenance mechanic you will be responsible for the upkeep of buildings and mechanical systems, such as heating and cooling systems. Assisting with repair, maintenance, and the installation of system components. Additionally, maintenance mechanics are expected to perform emergency repairs, which necessitates the ability to troubleshoot promptly.
Responsibilities:
- Install, assemble and test new machines and equipment; understand and comply with workplace safety regulations.
- Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises and conducting scheduled testing as appropriate.
- Monitor, identify and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery.
- Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment.
- Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electric and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.
- Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions.
- Maintain machinery and the adjacent workplace in a state of appropriate cleanliness; create and maintain a schedule for inspection, service and testing of machinery.
- Read and comply with work orders concerning service, modification or installation of machinery.
- Work effectively with other team members in a loud environment.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to walk, stand, and lift heavy objects for an extended amount of time up to 60lbs.
- Ability to act competently in emergencies
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Hard working
- Self-starter
- Knowledge of all basic and power tools
- Ability to follow safety rules
- Able to work in a team environment
- Able to get under 3' tables to work on mechanical system
- Able to multi-task and prioritize duties
