Position Overview
We are seeking a Class A CDL holder to assist with training and supervising a Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) holder. This is a temporary, part-time position with a flexible schedule.
The primary responsibility is riding along in the passenger seat while the permit holder operates company vehicles and equipment. There may be occasional driving duties as needed.
This is an excellent opportunity for a retired driver, semi-retired driver, owner-operator between jobs, or anyone looking for supplemental income without committing to a full-time schedule.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist a CDL permit holder during vehicle operation
- Ensure safe driving practices and compliance with DOT regulations
- Provide coaching and feedback as needed
- Ride along on local routes throughout Eastern Iowa
- Assist with pre-trip inspections and basic driver training
- Occasionally operate company vehicles if necessary
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass company insurance requirements
- Professional attitude and strong safety mindset
- Prior trucking, construction, or equipment hauling experience preferred
