Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Short Stay Unit (SSU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in Northridge, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong Pre-Op, Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience and be comfortable caring for patients before surgery in a fast-paced perioperative environment.
Position Details:
- Specialty: Short Stay Unit (SSU) / Pre-Op RN
- Location: Northridge, CA
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks (With high possibility of extension)
- Shift: Days - 4x10 Days (10-Hour Shifts)
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
- Weekly Gross: Up to $3000.22
- Weekend Requirement: None (Saturday call approximately every 7–8 weeks)
- On-Call Requirement: Required
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Floating: None
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Pre-Op experience required
- Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience required
- Ambulatory Surgery (ASE) experience preferred
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Experience interpreting cardiac rhythms required
- Active California RN License required
- BLS (AHA) & ACLS (AHA) required
- PALS preferred (Not required)
Skills & Qualifications:
- Pre-operative patient assessment and surgical preparation
- IV starts, medication administration, and patient education
- Obtaining surgical and blood transfusion consents
- Knowledge of normal laboratory values and pre-operative documentation
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Monitoring post-procedure and observation patients
- Ability to recognize and manage complications, including hematoma assessment
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment

Pay: $70.00 - $75.01 per hour
