American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position at a children's hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience and proficiency in respiratory support including mechanical ventilation.

70-bed Level IV NICU within a 152-bed pediatric children's hospital, with a typical census of around 50 patients

Patient population includes premature infants as young as 22 weeks gestation, RDS, high-risk deliveries, feeders/growers, and NAS; preferred experience with surgical patients and HIE (Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy)

NICU is housed within a pediatric hospital attached to an adult hospital with high-risk labor and delivery; private patient rooms available, with overflow Level II Nursery for feeders/growers

EMR: Epic experience preferred

12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM

36 hours per week

Every other weekend rotation required; occasional back-to-back weekends possible but rare

Block scheduling is possible but not guaranteed

Rare float to the ER in a sitter capacity

No on-call responsibilities

Active WA state RN license or compact license accepted (pending license with proof of application date may be considered)

Current BLS and NRP certifications required

Minimum 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience required

Proficiency in respiratory support including mechanical ventilation required; trach experience highly preferred
-
Skills required: G-tubes, NG/OG tube management, NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, PICC lines, medication administration, care planning, and discharge-to-home coordination

One supervisor-level reference required for consideration; a second reference (charge nurse, manager, or director level or above) required prior to start

First-time travelers will be considered, though travel experience is strongly preferred

Any scrub color is acceptable
