Overview

Duties
- Develop, review, and maintain system security plans aligned with NIST standards and government cybersecurity frameworks such as FISMA and FedRAMP.
- Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) solutions, ensuring secure authentication and authorization across cloud and on-premises systems.
- Conduct comprehensive security risk assessments and vulnerability management activities, including vulnerability research, assessment, and remediation efforts.
- Oversee network security measures including firewall configuration (Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS deployment, VPN setup, IPsec encryption, and network protocols to safeguard LAN/WAN environments.
- Lead incident response efforts by investigating security incidents, performing threat detection & response activities using SIEM tools like Splunk or SolarWinds, and coordinating incident recovery processes.
- Manage security compliance programs in accordance with ISO 27000 series standards (ISO 27002), NIST SP 800-53 controls, PCI DSS requirements, and other regulatory frameworks architecture security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system hardening, system administration tasks (Linux, Windows, macOS), cloud architecture deployment (AWS, Google Cloud Platform), and automation using Ansible or Terraform for secure infrastructure provisioning.
Experience
- Proven experience in information security management within government or enterprise environments focusing on cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) or COBIT.
- Strong background in computer networking including routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), network engineering principles, LAN/WAN management, and network support activities.
- Hands-on knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) with experience in cloud infrastructure security best practices.
- Familiarity with security assessment tools and techniques such as vulnerability assessment & penetration testing; experience with threat intelligence analysis is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead team efforts in security policy implementation, IT risk management, governance/risk/compliance (GRC) software utilization, and IT security auditing processes.
- Technical proficiency in system hardening techniques for operating systems (Ubuntu, openSUSE), virtualization platforms (vSphere), scripting languages (Python, Bash), and automation tools like Ansible or Terraform.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders at all levels; experience in project management is advantageous.

Pay: $142,662.00 - $154,000.00 per year
