A growing specialty pharmacy is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Director of Pharmacy to provide strategic and operational leadership across its pharmacy services, including its robust 340B program and pharmaceutical compounding in compliance with USP 797 and USP 800.
As the Pharmacist-in-Charge, the Pharmacy Director is responsible for directing safe, high quality, and efficient pharmacy services to patients in a multi-disciplinary setting. The Pharmacy Director ensures the most efficient and optimal delivery of care through strategic planning and collaboration. They also recommend and participate in new program development aligned with organizational financial sustainability goals and initiatives. And, they lead and provide oversight of the design and operation of the entire medication use process, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
The Pharmacy Director provides leadership and oversight of quality initiatives to ensure that targets are met or exceeded through effective planning, oversight, and process improvement. They ensure ongoing compliance with contractual requirements and all regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of building and maintaining high-performing team through clear expectations and effective communication. They are a hands-on leader who brings sound judgement, fair and equitable accountability, and are skilled at providing feedback and coaching.
Requirements
- Graduate from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with Pharmacy Degree (PharmD)
- Active California Pharmacist license in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible Pharmacy experience with collaborative drug therapy management and/or formulary management, as well as direct consultation and presentation of medication information and recommendations to physicians and/or patients
- Minimum of three (3) years of recent hospital or infusion-based pharmacy experience including a thorough knowledge of intravenous admixture aspects and/or clinical components of home infusion therapy in a clean-room environment (USP 795/797/800)
- Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience including direct supervision and successful development of staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of an ASHP accredited residency program
- Experience with Epic and Willow systems
- Strong knowledge of 340B program administration
- Active BLS health care provider
