Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Group Leader to oversee and coordinate key operational functions within our supply chain and logistics divisions. This role is vital in driving efficiency, optimizing inventory control, and ensuring seamless warehouse distribution. As a Group Leader, you will lead a team of professionals, manage complex processes related to transportation management systems, procurement, and order fulfillment, and implement continuous process improvements. Your leadership will directly impact our ability to deliver exceptional service while maintaining cost-effective operations.
Duties
- Lead and motivate a team responsible for supply chain management, warehouse operations, and logistics functions to achieve operational excellence.
- Oversee inventory management processes, including inventory control, demand planning, and category management to ensure accuracy and availability.
- Coordinate transportation planning and management activities utilizing transportation management systems (TMS) to optimize freight routes and reduce costs.
- Manage warehouse activities such as shipping & receiving, picking & packing, materials handling, and warehouse management system (WMS) operations.
- Drive process improvement initiatives by analyzing supply chain analytics, utilizing ERP systems like AS400 or similar platforms to streamline workflows.
- Supervise procurement activities including sourcing, pricing negotiations, and vendor relationships such as 3PL providers or NVOCC partners.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to forklift operation, materials handling equipment (CMMS), and overall warehouse safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in supply chain management, logistics, or operations management with a strong understanding of warehouse distribution and transportation systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
- Familiarity with warehouse management system (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as AS400 or equivalent, and supply chain analytics tools.
- Knowledge of freight forwarding (including NVOCC), dispatching, sourcing, procurement processes, and demand planning techniques.
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex logistics data for process optimization.
- Certifications or hands-on experience with forklift operation, materials handling equipment (CMMS), and safety standards are preferred.
