American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant for a day shift position requiring a minimum of 2 years of cardiac, vascular, endovascular, or thoracic OR experience and active CSFA, NBSTSA, or NCCSA certification.

Work setting is a hospital CVOR unit

Cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic surgical cases
-
Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM

Weekends required only during call rotation

Call required approximately 1 day per week and 1 weekend every 4 weeks, subject to change based on departmental needs

Floating within scope of practice to the Main OR as needed

Active GA or Compact RN license required

Required certifications: CSFA, NBSTSA, or NCCSA

Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience with cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and/or thoracic cases

Copies of all relevant certifications required for consideration

Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred
-
This position requires a privileging process prior to start, with an approximate timeline of 120 days from time of signature — plan accordingly when considering your availability

No scheduling requests, alternate shifts, or schedule changes are permitted — the posted shift is firm

RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment

Holiday RTO policy: if 1–2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, no holiday RTO will be approved; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, one holiday RTO request may be considered
-
Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler
