Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher for Twos to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will be the guiding force behind creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for children aged two years old. You will lead classroom activities, collaborate with families, and support fellow teachers to foster a love of learning and promote positive social-emotional growth. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to the developmental needs of two-year-olds, incorporating early literacy, math, physical activity, and social skills.
- Lead daily classroom activities that promote active learning, curiosity, and independence among toddlers.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of child progress, including assessments aligned with childhood development standards and standardized testing when applicable.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share updates on children’s progress, milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or behavior.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and health & safety regulations such as first aid and CPR certifications.
- Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, classroom management strategies, and early intervention initiatives to support diverse learning needs including special education requirements.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with children in early childhood settings, especially with toddlers or preschool-aged students.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles, curriculum development, and early intervention techniques.
- Proven ability to manage a classroom effectively while fostering a warm, inclusive environment that encourages exploration and growth.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, families, staff, and community partners.
- Familiarity with childhood education standards, preschool teaching practices, and behavior management strategies.
- Ability to implement literacy education activities that promote language acquisition and early reading skills.
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols such as first aid and CPR certification.
- Experience in teaching physical education or movement-based activities that support gross motor development.
- Prior experience working in private schools or similar educational settings is preferred but not required.
