We are currently seeking a Part-Time Director of Nursing (DON) who is passionate, detail-oriented, and looking to grow with a mission-driven organization.
Summary
The Part-Time Director of Nursing will oversee clinical operations for both home health and hospice services. This leadership role ensures high standards of patient care, compliance with all regulatory requirements, and strong support for clinical staff. Perfect for an experienced RN looking to contribute meaningfully without the demand of a full-time schedule.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical oversight and leadership to nursing and therapy staff
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (CMS, Medicare, CHAP/ACHC, etc.)
- Review and approve care plans, OASIS documentation, and visit notes
- Participate in QAPI, infection control, and clinical audits
- Assist with staff training, onboarding, and performance evaluations
- Collaborate with the administrator and interdisciplinary team for care coordination
- Serve as a clinical resource for field staff and patients
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of home health and hospice regulations
Requirements
- Current and active RN license in [State] (required)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in home health and/or hospice
- Previous DON or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of Medicare regulations and OASIS documentation
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- EMR proficiency (Kinnser/WellSky a plus)
Schedule & Compensation:
- Part-Time: Flexible hours (10–20 hours/week)
- Remote chart review available with occasional in-office meetings
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience
