The SHEQ Manager is responsible for supporting Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality programs within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with OSHA, ISO 9001, DOT, and environmental regulations through safety audits, risk assessments, employee training, incident management, quality system oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position partners closely with frontline employees, leadership, vendors, and external agencies to promote workplace safety, regulatory compliance, product quality, and lean manufacturing practices while tracking KPIs and driving corrective actions.
Essential Duties:
Safety
- Help with the creation of risk assessments/PPE requirements
- Assist in ergonomic studies/improvements
- Organize regular Safety Audits for compliance with OSHA and internal requirements
- Participate in Safety Committee meetings
- Organize the training in skilled operations (industrial equipment operation, confined space)
- Complete OSHA reporting as needed
- Prepare and present required trainings
- Assist with incident responses and case management
Health
- Organize Industrial Health studies as needed
- Schedule annual audiometric testing
- Communicate health risks to employees
Environmental
- Verify compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Audit and report hazardous materials
- Work with vendors to discard materials as necessary
- Complete reports as necessary internally/externally
Quality
- Assist in the verification of incoming materials
- Manage and complete DOT testing/capabilities/reporting
- Verify continuous compliance to ISO 9001
- Create/Review/Update Quality documents
- Initiate/Implement/Verify Corrective Actions
- Communicate with internal & external partners concerning deviations or general requests
- Oversee calibration system
- Periodic reporting of plant status related to Quality
- Continuously assist in the reduction of the possibilities of deviations internally and externally
- Prepare Management Review
- Implement Quality Control testing for product/process verification
- Assist in 6s and lean manufacturing practices
Other Duties
- Develop and assist in the accomplishment of KPI’s
- Maintain working area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition
- Observe all safety rules and regulations
- Attend all required meetings and training courses

Requirements/Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment
- Solid understanding of quality systems and/or safety systems
- Experience with 6S and lean manufacturing programs, preferred
- Exceptional reading comprehension, problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to grow and accept challenges
- Use verbal skills to transfer information to large groups and/or influence others in English. Spanish-speaking ability a plus, but not required
- Ability to connect with Front Line employees
- Good math skills, including: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios. Statistical inference, frequency distribution, validity, etc.
- Financial management, budgetary responsibility, forecasting/projections, etc.
Good computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PP, Outlook)
