Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled RN Clinical Supervisor for our Home Health services. The ideal candidate will possess extensive nursing expertise, including critical care and long-term care experience, combined with strong leadership and team management capabilities. As an RN Clinical Supervisor, you will oversee clinical operations, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and provide mentorship to nursing staff. Your role is vital in delivering exceptional patient care within a home health setting, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes professional growth and operational excellence.
Duties
- Provide clinical supervision and leadership to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and monitor ongoing patient progress utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state healthcare regulations, and long-term care regulations while maintaining high standards of medical documentation and medical records management.
- Oversee medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheter care, tube feeding, and other complex nursing interventions in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Conduct regular staff evaluations, facilitate training on topics such as infection control, sterile processing, and Aseptic technique, and promote continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care across settings such as skilled nursing facilities or assisted living communities.
- Manage staffing schedules, supervise nurse management activities, and support team development to optimize patient outcomes and staff satisfaction.
- Lead utilization review and utilization management processes to ensure appropriate resource utilization while maintaining compliance with DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) guidelines.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be a Registered nurse (RN) with current licensure to practice in the state of California.
- Minimum of Associates Degree in Nursing. Undergraduate (BSN) degree in Nursing from a program accredited by the National League for Nursing and graduate degree (health care) a plus.
- Minimum of one (1) years’ supervisory experience in the health care field within the last five (5) years.
- Knowledge and expertise in clinical decision-making for the patient population.
- An understanding of Quality Assessment reviews.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and direct professional personnel.
- Excellent observation and verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with high degree of precision and attention to detail to achieve accurate and timely delivery of services and to follow up and close out all open cases.
- Ability to work efficiently with typical office computer software programs (MSWord, Email, etc.); and ability to efficiently use an electronic health care charting system.
