Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with educational standards and promote early childhood learning.
- Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and discovery.
- Utilize various teaching methods, including Montessori techniques, to cater to diverse learning styles.
- Assess and monitor student progress through standardized testing and regular evaluations.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student development, behavior management strategies, and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive environment for all students, including those requiring special education support.
- Teach physical education activities that promote health, fitness, and motor skills development.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress reports, and assessments.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and practices.
- Experience in teaching math concepts to preschool-aged children.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or other progressive educational approaches.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and staff.
- Experience working with students in a private school setting is preferred but not required.
- Understanding of standardized testing processes as they relate to early childhood education.
- A background in teaching physical education or related activities is advantageous.
