The Office of Student Engagement Initiatives in The Haslam College of Business aims to develop a culture of engagement and belonging among the student body. This position works with leadership on a wide variety of communication initiatives, student programming, and data analytics. The Student Engagement Coordinator supports departmental goals through communications, programming, assessment, and operational support.
Required Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
- Experience:
- Two years’ work experience in communications, marketing, PR, college student personnel, or a related field
- Master's degree in a related field will be accepted in lieu of two years’ experience
- Internships can count towards experience required
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; research and assessment skills; knowledge of social media and best practices; graphic design skills; knowledge of student development; ability to work independently and collaborate with numerous constituencies; time management skills
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment-based visa status.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education:
- Master’s degree in communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
- Experience:
- Experience working in communications and social media
- Experience in higher education and/or working with student populations and programming
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of working in higher education; knowledge of working with students and student development
