Cheaha Regional Head Start/Early Head Start is looking for a friendly, dependable, and organized Office Assistant to support the daily operations of our Head Start center.

What You'll Do
- Welcome visitors, parents, and families and direct them to the appropriate staff.
- Answer and route telephone calls and take accurate messages.
- Maintain visitor and staff sign-in/sign-out records.
- Prepare, copy, upload, and distribute documents and materials.
- Assist with data entry, attendance, In-Kind documentation, and USDA-related duties.
- Provide support to Family Services staff when needed.
- Help maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming reception area.
- Maintain office forms and supplies.
- Support classroom staff by providing breaks or assisting in the classroom when assigned.
- Assist with recruiting eligible children and connecting families with community resources.
- Encourage parents and guardians to participate in their child's education.
- Assist with center operations in the absence of the Center Director, when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of related experience
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well with children, families, and staff
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to follow policies, procedures, and instructions
- Professional and positive attitude
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with productivity software and spreadsheets
Physical Requirements:
The position requires the ability to:
- Lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Bend, stoop, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Assist in a classroom, kitchen, or other center area when needed
Transportation Requirements
If personal transportation is required for job duties, employees must:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Have a valid driver's license
- Maintain required automobile liability insurance
- Provide a current Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
- Meet the requirements to be insured under the program's non-owned vehicle insurance plan
