Duties
- Assist with animal restraint, handling, and pet care to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures
- Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians with laboratory work, medication administration, and aseptic techniques
- Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, kennels, surgical suites, and equipment through thorough cleaning and sanitation practices
- Record keeping including updating patient records accurately with medical history, treatments, and procedures performed
- Help with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring animal behavior for signs of distress or illness
- Support client communication by providing information on pet care instructions and answering basic questions about procedures or treatments
- Assist in surgical preparation and post-operative recovery by monitoring animals and ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Experience
- Previous kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; experience working in a veterinary clinic is highly desirable
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior is beneficial
- Hands-on experience with dog and cat handling, medication administration, laboratory procedures or critical care is a plus
- Familiarity with front desk duties such as appointment scheduling or client communication is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and compassion for animals

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
