Job Overview
The Director of Communications & Media leads Omaha100’s communications, media, brand, storytelling, and public relations. This role ensures Omaha100 communicates clearly, consistently, and strategically while protecting the credibility and public trust of both Omaha100.
This position owns the strategy, message, public voice, editorial standards, media relationships, and communications direction for Omaha100
Responsibilities
- Develop annual and quarterly communications priorities aligned with Omaha100’s goals.
- Lead messaging for major initiatives, events, partnerships, funding announcements, and public updates.
- Clarify what is Omaha100 marketing, sponsored content, and community announcements.
- Lead media relations, press releases, public statements, talking points, and leadership messaging.
- Advise the CEO and senior leadership on public messaging, brand positioning, and reputational risk.
- Lead storytelling around homeownership, business lending, entrepreneurship, community development, and economic mobility.
- Supervise and support communications/media staff, contributors, vendors, and contractors.
- Create simple workflows for communications requests, approvals, social media, newsletters, website updates, press releases, and event promotion.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on communications progress, audience growth, risks, wins, and upcoming priorities.
- Manage event promotion timelines, registration lists, and communication touchpoints.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure consistency in brand messaging and outreach.
- Contribute data and narratives for grant and funding reports that reflect engagement and impact in socioeconomically challenged communities.

1. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
2. Advanced computer skills and proficiency with the most current MS Windows applications.
3. An ability and talent to work well in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment.
4. Next step is thinking and strategic problem-solving.
5. Extensive knowledge of programming services guidelines and regulations (i.e. HUD, Fair Housing, HIPAA).
6. Excellent written & verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience
8. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Pay: $58,029.68 - $69,885.20 per year
