Responsibilities:
Assess residents with respiratory conditions and identify changes in respiratory status
Provide specialized nursing care for residents with tracheostomies and mechanical ventilators
Monitor oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation (CPAP, BiPAP, and AVAPS), and respiratory treatments
Collaborate with Respiratory Therapy regarding ventilator management, respiratory treatments, and resident care planning
Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans
Recognize and respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and changes in condition
Ensure accurate documentation of respiratory assessments, treatments, interventions, and resident responses
Educate residents, families, and staff on respiratory disease management and respiratory equipment
