Job Summary
The Logistics/Receiving Manager is responsible for overseeing all incoming materials, hardware, veneers, lumber, sheet goods, finished millwork, and vendor shipments to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely availability for production and installation. This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory integrity, supporting manufacturing schedules, and ensuring premium-quality materials are handled with care.
The ideal candidate has experience in architectural millwork, custom cabinetry, woodworking, construction materials, or luxury interiors and is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of leading a warehouse receiving team.
Responsibilities
- Manage all daily receiving operations for incoming materials and finished goods.
- Verify deliveries against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation.
- Inspect all incoming materials for quantity, damage, finish quality, and specification compliance.
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Production, Project Managers, and Installation teams regarding deliveries and material availability.
- Accurately receive inventory into the ERP or inventory management system.
- Identify and resolve receiving discrepancies, shortages, damaged materials, and vendor issues.
- Organize warehouse receiving areas for maximum efficiency and safety.
- Label, stage, and distribute materials to production departments according to project schedules.
- Supervise warehouse receiving personnel, assigning daily priorities and monitoring productivity.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Develop and improve receiving processes to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
- Strong collaboration with Purchasing, Production, and Project Management teams.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of warehouse, receiving, or inventory management experience.
- Experience in architectural millwork, cabinetry, woodworking, construction materials, or manufacturing preferred.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Strong understanding of inventory control and warehouse best practices.
- Experience with ERP or inventory management software.
- Ability to read purchase orders, shop drawings, and shipping documents.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

- High-end residential or commercial millwork.
- Luxury construction projects.

Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
