Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting from a diverse array of deli products, including meats, cheeses, salads, and prepared foods
- Prepare and assemble deli items according to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality
- Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, grills, braising pots, poaching devices, and other food preparation tools safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations by adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures throughout your shift
- Manage food production tasks including grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation to meet high-volume demands
- Ensure proper food handling practices are followed at all times to uphold food safety management standards
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new deli offerings or modifications based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
Requirements
- Previous experience as a dietary aide or in a similar food service role within a restaurant or catering environment is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of food industry standards including food safety protocols and sanitizing procedures
- Culinary experience with skills in grilling, braising, poaching, knife handling, and general food preparation techniques
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as slicers, grills, ovens, and other culinary tools
- Experience in high-volume production settings with an emphasis on recipe adherence and meal preparation efficiency
- Ability to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills combined with a positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
