JOB TYPE: Full-time/Temporary (not to exceed 6 months)

Salary: $28.85 per hour/40 hours per week
The Link & Option Center, Inc. is a Joint Commission–accredited outpatient State Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) serving the far Southside community and designated to serve the Southland region with locations in South Holland and Hazel Crest, Illinois. Job Summary:
Medical Assistant: Assists the medical director, psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff by performing clinical and administrative duties under the direction of the Medical Director, Psychiatrists, and Physicians.
Administrative duties include scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records in our EHR.
General Accountabilities:

Escort patients to exam and treatment rooms, interview patients to obtain medical history, perform routine screening tests, such as height and weight measurements and blood pressure checks, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature and document all information in the patient’s chart.

Conduct scheduled patient urinalysis and ensure reports are viewed by prescribing doctors.

Ensure all related reports, labs, and information is filled out and available in the patient’s medical records prior to their appointment.

Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; keeping patient information confidential.

Record patient records in Electronic Health Records (EHR) platform.

Prepare treatment rooms for patient telehealth evaluations and follow-up appointments. Assist doctors in preparation of telehealth and face-to-face patient encounters.

Disinfect and clean treatment rooms following patient examinations. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures to comply with legal regulations.

Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization, and properly dispose of contaminated supplies.

Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.

Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Job Qualifications:

Minimum education: High School Diploma or equivalent substitute.

Minimum experience: 2 years combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience.

Minimum certifications and/or licenses: CPR and first aid certification required. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMS) required.

Minimum skills: Experience with EHR, MS Word, Excel and MS Outlook.
