Position Summary
The QC Technician is responsible for inspecting, verifying, and documenting the condition and completeness of automotive parts removed from vehicles. This role ensures parts meet company quality standards before being inventoried or shipped to customers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect dismantled parts for condition, completeness, and damage.
- Verify correct accessories are included: brackets, sensors, pigtails, clips, modules, etc.
- Confirm part numbers, compatibility, and condition codes.
- Ensure accurate tagging, labeling, and documentation.
- Validate photos and data entered into the inventory system.
- Report defective or incorrect parts.
- Collaborate with Dismantling, Inventory, and Shipping teams.
- Inspect outbound orders to prevent shipping errors.
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Qualifications
- Basic automotive knowledge (body, mechanical, electrical).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and QC documentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced yard/warehouse environment.
- Experience in salvage yard or automotive parts preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs with or without assistance.
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and walking.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Work Environment
- Active salvage yard and warehouse environment.
- Exposure to noise, heavy equipment, fluids, and metal components.
- Required PPE: gloves, steel-toe boots, safety glasses.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
