We are seeking a dependable, patient-focused X-Ray Technician / Medical Assistant to join a growing orthopedic group in Covina, CA. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who enjoys both clinical and imaging responsibilities while working closely with orthopedic providers in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate is flexible, professional, organized, and comfortable traveling between clinic locations as needed. This position will support physicians during clinic operations, assist with patient care, perform diagnostic imaging, and provide medical assistant support throughout the patient visit experience.
Responsibilities: X-Ray Technician Duties
- Perform high-quality diagnostic X-rays following physician orders and safety protocols
- Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures
- Ensure proper radiation safety standards are maintained
- Maintain imaging equipment and report any technical issues
- Upload and document imaging results accurately in the EMR system
- Coordinate imaging workflow with providers and clinical staff
Medical Assistant Duties
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
- Assist providers with orthopedic procedures, injections, splinting, casting, and patient care
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain clinical supplies
- Document patient information accurately in the EMR
- Educate patients on treatment plans, follow-up care, and provider instructions
- Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and patient coordination as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards throughout the clinic
Additional Responsibilities
- Travel between multiple clinic locations throughout the Los Angeles area as needed
- Shadow orthopedic providers during clinic sessions to support workflow efficiency
- Provide excellent customer service and compassionate patient care
- Support front office or back office operations when necessary
- Work collaboratively with physicians, therapists, and clinical staff
Qualifications
- Current California X-Ray Technician License required (limited ok)
- Medical Assistant experience 2 years
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum 2 years of orthopedic, urgent care, or related clinical experience preferred
- Experience with EMR systems preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between clinic sites
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and assist patients when necessary
- Ability to perform repetitive movements related to clinical and imaging duties
