PURPOSE OF POSITION
Support the execution of strategic communications, community engagement, and government relations initiatives, including multimedia content, public outreach, and digital engagement, to strengthen relationships with community members, local organizations, and governmental partners. By ensuring the hospital’s messaging is timely, consistent, and relevant, this position advances Kings County’s commitment to improving community health, fostering meaningful connections, and supporting public policy priorities. This position requires advanced executive-level communication skills, strategic judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities to enhance the hospital’s visibility, community impact, and organizational effectiveness.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead support for community engagement and outreach initiatives, including planning, execution, and evaluation of programs, oversight of the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), and liaison to the Community Advisory Board (CAB).

Collaborate with community partners, medical staff, and administrators to develop targeted outreach campaigns that advance public health priorities and strengthen relationships with community-based organizations.

Support the Chief Communications Officer (CCO) in government relations and proactive press strategies highlighting Kings County’s community impact.

Assist in media relations, serving as a 24/7 point of contact for press inquiries and coordinating public responses to ensure timely and accurate communication.

Develop and manage internal and external communications, including multimedia content, video, graphic design, and digital campaigns, to support outreach and engagement objectives.

Oversee website, intranet, social media, and digital advertising, ensuring content is accurate, accessible, and aligned with organizational and community engagement priorities.

Track, analyze, and report on communications, outreach, and engagement metrics to inform strategy and optimize performance.
Manage department projects, workflows, and production schedules, while supporting executive-level communications and administrative needs.
