Duties
- Assist in preparing and cooking a variety of meals following established recipes and safety standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools with precision and care
- Maintain cleanliness by cleaning workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment regularly to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Follow food handling procedures diligently to prevent contamination and ensure food safety management
- Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients and assisting with portioning for meals or catering events
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation, serving times, and special dietary needs
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during all aspects of food production and service
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or food service environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food industry practices including food safety, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques
- Demonstrated ability in operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Safe Serv needed
- Experience in restaurant or catering settings is advantageous but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and team members
- Basic understanding of culinary concepts such as menu planning, food handling, and cooking methods
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
