The Automotive Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in helping to oversee the daily operations of the service department within the automotive service center. This position requires a dynamic leader who can assist in managing staff, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain efficient workflow. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, along with a comprehensive understanding of automotive services and retail management. Also helpful if you are familiar with oil changes and tire mounting and balancing. Extremely helpful if you have light duty mechanical experience. You will be doing oil changes and tires possibly belt replacement and brakes when not assisting the Shop manager. Need to have your own tools
Duties
- Supervise and help lead a team of automotive technicians to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Assist in Managing daily operations, including scheduling, inventory control, and workflow management.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize service offerings and enhance customer experience.
- Utilize POS systems for transactions, pricing, and sales management.
Skills
- Strong negotiation skills to effectively resolve conflicts and secure favorable outcomes.
- Proficient in retail sales techniques, including merchandising, stocking, and cashiering.
- Demonstrated experience in team management and leadership roles within a retail or automotive environment.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Solid understanding of retail math for budgeting, pricing, and inventory control purposes.
- Exceptional communication skills for clear interaction with customers and staff alike.
- Administrative experience that includes organizational skills essential for managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
This position is a Tuesday through Saturday position.
