Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Substitute Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring that students continue to progress in their studies during the absence of the regular teacher. This role requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and a passion for working with children of various ages and backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of education.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a conducive learning environment.
- Engage students in meaningful learning activities that align with curriculum standards.
- Foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Provide individualized support to students as needed, including those with special education needs or autism.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and any incidents that occur during class.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs of students.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred.
- Strong skills in classroom management and behavior management techniques.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and early childhood education principles.
- Familiarity with literacy education, math instruction, and special education practices is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

- Pay Rate: $22/hour
- Schedule: Flexible — must pick up a minimum of 5 shifts per month (if available)
