Duties

- Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards and proper food handling procedures to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting innovative dishes that meet nutritional and dietary requirements.
- Ensure all food preparation areas are kept clean, organized, and sanitized in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and delivery times.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies; communicate needs for restocking or replacement.
- Support catering events or special meal services as required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or related roles within the food industry or restaurant environment.
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and portion control.
- Familiarity with food safety management systems and adherence to safety standards in production.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency across dishes.
- Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with kitchen staff and team members.
- Prior experience in menu planning, meal preparation, or catering is advantageous.
- Demonstrated understanding of food handling procedures, sanitation practices, and safety regulations.
