Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional grooming services. This role involves working closely with both dogs AND cats to ensure their grooming needs are met while also ensuring their comfort and safety. The Pet Groomer will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized grooming area, providing excellent customer service, and building lasting relationships with pet owners.
Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and cats.
- Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques.
- Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort during the grooming process.
- Maintain cleanliness of the grooming area, tools, and equipment to meet health and safety standards.
- Communicate with pet owners regarding their pets’ grooming needs and provide recommendations for care.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns in a friendly manner.
- Assist in animal restraint as necessary during grooming procedures.
- Stay updated on industry trends in pet care and grooming techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming is required.
- Strong skills in handling dogs and cats, as well as animal care.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or multiple pets.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Knowledge of dog and cat training techniques is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is essential.
