A skilled Set-Up Mechanic to assemble, maintain and repair machinery used in the Personal Care industry (piston fillers, cappers, tube fillers, coders, labelers, etc.).
How you’ll fit in:
As our Set-Up Mechanic, you will be responsible for the set-up and maintenance of production lines. You’ll repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as fillers, cappers, in-line labelers, coders, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of machines and mechanical systems.
What you’ll do:
- Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
- Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
- Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections
- Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
- Repair or replace defective parts
- Install special functional and structural parts in devices
- Lubricate and clean parts
- Start a device to test its performance
- Repair electrical equipment
- Change over equipment within predetermined standard of time
- Assist and train other mechanics in the performance of their duties
- Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
- Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
- Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
What you have:
- Experience working as a mechanic in a personal care, cosmetic, or other manufacturing environment
- Manual dexterity and great attention to detail
- The ability to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions
- Very good communication skills and problem-solving ability
- History of completing all tasks and assignments in a safe and timely manner
- A drive for continuous self-improvement to increase personal productivity
