Duties
- Assist with menu planning and meal preparation to ensure timely delivery of delicious dishes
- Prepare food items according to established recipes, standards, and safety guidelines
- Handle food safely by following proper storage, sanitation, and hygiene practices
- Support kitchen operations through food handling, cooking, and plating techniques
- Serve meals to guests with professionalism and a friendly attitude
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and dining areas in compliance with health regulations
- Contribute to catering events by preparing and presenting food items with precision
- Utilize knife skills for precise cutting, slicing, and portioning of ingredients
- Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of supply needs
- Follow all food industry regulations related to safety, sanitation, and quality assurance
Skills
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Strong background in menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Experience working in fine dining or restaurant environments is a plus
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety standards
- Skilled in food service operations including serving guests efficiently and courteously
- Proficiency with kitchen equipment and tools such as knives and cooking appliances
- Ability to perform meal preparation quickly while maintaining high-quality standards
- Experience in catering or large-scale food production is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Demonstrated commitment to cleanliness, safety, and hygiene practices within the food industry
