Position Summary
Impact Christian Academy is seeking a dependable, service-minded Part-Time Culinary Team Member to support the daily operations of our school kitchen. This individual will assist with meal preparation, food service, kitchen organization, and sanitation while working alongside our full-time culinary staff to provide a positive dining experience for students and staff.
The ideal candidate enjoys working as part of a team, takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and understands the importance of serving students with excellence and care.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Service
- Assist with the daily preparation of breakfast and lunch items according to established menus and recipes.
- Prepare food ingredients, portion meals, and assist with meal service.
- Ensure meals are served in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
- Maintain appropriate food temperatures and quality throughout service.
Kitchen Operations
- Assist with setting up and breaking down food service stations.
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
- Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, equipment, and dining spaces.
- Restock food, beverages, paper products, and kitchen supplies.
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines.
- Practice proper food handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
- Report equipment concerns or safety issues promptly.
Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with the Culinary Manager and kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist with special school events, staff meals, or other food service needs as assigned.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to assist wherever needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in food service, hospitality, cafeteria, restaurant, or commercial kitchen preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong work ethic with excellent attendance and reliability.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain after hire).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a school, childcare, church, or institutional kitchen.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Experience preparing meals for large groups.
