Part Time STEM Tutors Positions
STEM Instructor (Part-Time, After-School Program)
About the Role
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable college students to join our team as part-time STEM Instructors. In this role, you will teach engaging coding and STEM enrichment classes to elementary school students at local schools. No prior teaching experience is required—we provide comprehensive paid training, curriculum, lesson plans, and ongoing support.
This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing education, computer science, engineering, mathematics, science, or related fields who enjoy working with children and want to make a positive impact.
Responsibilities
- Teach after-school coding and STEM enrichment classes for elementary school students.
- Lead hands-on activities using our curriculum and materials.
- Create a fun, safe, and encouraging learning environment.
- Inspire curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving.
- Manage classroom behavior in a positive and respectful manner.
- Arrive on time and communicate professionally with school staff and our team.
- Complete brief attendance and class reports after each session.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university.
- Passion for STEM, coding, or technology.
- Enjoy working with children in grades K–6.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Responsible, dependable, and professional.
- No teaching experience required—we provide training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children through tutoring, camps, coaching, or volunteering.
- Basic knowledge of coding (Scratch, Python, JavaScript, robotics, or similar) is helpful but not required.
- Reliable transportation to assigned school sites.
Schedule
- Part-time
- Weekday afternoons during the school year
- Typical shifts at school sites: 3 PM to 5 PM
- Paid weekly training and meeting via zoom and/or in person
Ideal Candidate
You are energetic, patient, and enthusiastic about inspiring young learners. You don't need to be an expert teacher—we'll train you. If you enjoy coding, STEM, and making learning fun, we'd love to hear from you.
Pay is $25 -$30 per hour.
