Job Summary
We are seeking an individual who is passionate about helping our community get connected with our mission. This individual will act as a liaison between Olive Crest and the local community to provide opportunities for involvement. Works closely with Community Engagement and Program Teams to ensure that families and children in our programs are being supported and needs are being met. Assists with volunteer recruitment and community outreach program. Provides administrative support to Community Engagement Director and Program Director as needed.
Responsibilities
- Develop community involvement plan with Community Involvement Supervisor and establish steps to achieve goals.
- Act as community involvement liaison with National, PNW staff and local community.
- Network with local church partners who want to serve foster families in tangible ways (backpacks, gift baskets, etc)
- Coordinate and facilitate community informational meetings and trainings, inviting the public to learn more about and ways to get involved with Olive Crest.
- Recruit, coordinate and manage office, program and development volunteers.
- Network with volunteers for special assignments (outside meetings, resource fairs, luncheons, club meetings, etc.).
- Create and maintain volunteer best practices, ensuring volunteer documents and files comply with Olive Crest’s policies and State contract requirements.
- Continually assess and update volunteer needs, volunteer calendar, and provide volunteer training and on-boarding.
- Responsible for tracking volunteer hours and information in Volunteer Hub.
- Provide content for Olive Crest Newsletters, and create flyers when needed
- Solicit and process gift-in-kind donations
- Organize and maintain GIK storage facility and tracking inventory. Provide inventory updates to program staff.
- Participate and assist in coordinating foster family events:
- Coordinate and organize giving campaigns to support Olive Crest families
- Partner with for-profit businesses for key events
- Sunday presentation support up to 3 times per month, with a minimum of 1 time per month
Required Qualifications
- AA Degree and 6 months additional relevant work experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills and computer skills.
- Detail oriented and strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Energetic, friendly, resourceful, team work approach and strong with follow-through.
- Can work independently and can problem-solve.
- Adaptable to changing environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record as required by Olive Crest’s insurance carrier.
- Reliable vehicle and current proof of automobile insurance.
- First Aid/CPR/HIV certification.
- Must have 2 hours of blood borne pathogens training in the past 5 years.
- Background clearance.
- A philosophy of support for at-risk children and families in line with the mission, vision, values, and statement of faith of Olive Crest.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or 1 year additional relevant experience.
- Prior experience with volunteer coordination, community involvement, and community engagement activities.
- Marketing and events planning experience is a plus.
Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
