MAIN GOAL:
The Safety Inspector proactively protects MOCA personnel, clients, and operations by ensuring safe, compliant, and incident-free project execution through on-site risk identification, inspections, enforcement of ISO 45001, Amazon Safety Conditions and OSHA requirements, and immediate implementation of preventive and corrective actions across nationwide projects, serving as MOCA’s on-site safety authority and representative. Spanish and English required. 75% travelling
RESPONSABILITIES:
- Act as the field safety authority for MOCA projects.
- Conduct or support daily site inspections to verify compliance with ISO 45001, customer standards, and MOCA procedures.
- Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), risk assessments (HIRA), and pre-task safety planning with crews.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts; perform root cause analysis and issue technical reports with corrective actions.
- Implement and monitor corrective and preventive actions until closure.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions in English and Spanish.
- Coach and influence supervisors and workers to adopt safe behaviors and maintain a strong safety culture.
- Ensure all safety documentation and records are complete, accurate, and audit-ready (inspections, permits, checklists, reports, training logs)
- Support internal and external audits as the on-site safety representative.
- Represent MOCA professionally during client safety walks, meetings, stand-downs, and inspections.
Assist in the development and continuous improvement of MOCA’s Integrated Management System (IMS).
EDUCATION LEVEL:
- Technical degree or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
Equivalent field experience accepted.
CERTIFICATIONS:
- ISO 45001 Internal Auditor (desired)
Forklift / MEWP awareness training
EXPERIENCE:
- 3–5+ years of hands-on field safety experience in construction, warehouse, logistics, or industrial environments
- Experience working in active operational facilities (not only greenfield construction)
- Experience conducting incident investigations and writing formal safety reports
. Experience interacting directly with clients or safety authorities.
