A nationally recognized labor and employment law firm, is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to join its Hartford, CT (hybrid) office. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented litigation professional with strong civil defense litigation experience who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment.
Prepare legal correspondence and documentation
Manage the conflicts check process for new matters
Schedule depositions and coordinate calendars
Assist attorneys with pleadings, motions, discovery, and arbitration matters in both state and federal court
Analyze, review, and organize privileged documents and discovery materials
Coordinate client meetings and maintain case files
E-file court documents in state and federal courts
Provide direct administrative and litigation support to attorneys and collaborate closely with the billing specialist
3-5 years of civil litigation (defense) experience
Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and court filings
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong writing, grammar, and proofreading abilities
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Accurate typing speed of 65+ WPM
Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
Experience with FileSite and Aderant preferred
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
