Schedule: Full-time, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with weekend rotation
Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital is seeking an experienced Facilities Support Technician to join our evening team.
This is a hands-on position for someone with experience in commercial floor care, custodial work, and basic facility repairs. This is not a traditional housekeeping-only position. The Facilities Support Technician helps keep our hospital clean, safe, functional, and ready for our patients, families, and staff.
The right person will be comfortable maintaining floors, completing custodial responsibilities, handling minor repairs, setting up rooms, moving equipment, and responding to a variety of facility needs throughout the hospital.
What You'll Be Doing
- Perform commercial floor care, including stripping, waxing/finishing, buffing, and burnishing
- Operate commercial floor machines and carpet cleaning/extraction equipment
- Perform routine custodial and cleaning duties throughout the hospital
- Complete minor facility repairs using basic hand and power tools
- Assist with basic plumbing issues involving toilets, faucets, drains, and fixtures
- Make minor repairs to furniture, doors, locks, hardware, and other facility items
- Replace light bulbs and assist with routine building maintenance
- Set up rooms and spaces for meetings, events, and hospital activities
- Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and other materials as needed
- Respond to facility requests and complete appropriate tasks independently
- Recognize when a repair requires additional maintenance expertise and escalate appropriately
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment for patients, families, visitors, and staff
What We're Looking For
This position requires hands-on experience. We are looking for someone who already has a solid foundation in both floor care and general facilities support.
Required qualifications include:
- Previous facilities, custodial maintenance, building services, or similar hands-on experience
- Commercial floor care experience
- Experience operating commercial floor care equipment
- Hands-on experience with stripping, waxing/finishing, buffing, and/or burnishing floors
- Experience with commercial carpet cleaning equipment
- Ability to perform basic facility repairs with minimal supervision
- Experience using basic hand and power tools
- Strong custodial and cleaning skills
- Ability to safely lift, move, and set up furniture, equipment, and supplies
- Ability to work independently, prioritize requests, and recognize when additional assistance is needed
- Strong attendance, reliability, and a solid work history
- Professional communication skills and the ability to work appropriately around patients, families, visitors, and hospital staff
Healthcare or hospital facilities experience is a plus.
