Position Summary
As a Home Health Aide (HHA) with Graceful Aid, you’ll provide hands-on personal care and companionship to clients in their homes. You’ll help them maintain independence, comfort, and safety—making a real difference in their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care (bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, toileting, dressing)
- Support safe mobility and transfers between bed, chair, or wheelchair
- Perform light housekeeping: laundry, dishes, trash removal, linen changes
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding when needed
- Observe, document, and report any change in client condition to the supervising RN
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Follow individualized care plans and all agency safety protocols
- Uphold AHCA and HIPAA compliance standards
Training, Education & Competency Requirements
Graceful Aid LLC maintains full compliance with AHCA Home Health Aide Training/Education/In-Service Requirements.
All HHAs must complete and maintain documentation of at least 40 hours of approved training covering:
- Communication and patient-interaction skills
- Observation, reporting, and documentation of care provided
- Recording vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration)
- Basic infection control procedures
- Recognizing changes in body function and reporting to RN supervisor
- Maintaining a safe and sanitary environment
- Recognizing emergencies and proper follow-up
- Understanding physical, emotional, and developmental needs of patients
- Respecting patient privacy, dignity, and property
- Safe techniques for bathing, skin/nail/oral care, and hair shampooing
- Safe transfer and ambulation techniques
- Range of motion and positioning
- Nutrition and fluid intake
- Cultural sensitivity and family dynamics
- Food preparation and household chores
- Assistance with self-administered medication (if applicable)
- Other topics relevant to home health aide services
Medication Assistance (If Applicable)
Trained HHAs may assist clients with self-administered medications under RN supervision, which includes:
- Bringing properly labeled medications to the patient and reading the label aloud
- Helping remove prescribed doses, applying topical medications, and returning them to storage
- Observing for side effects or adverse reactions and reporting immediately
Assistance does not include: measuring, mixing, or administering injections; handling medications requiring clinical judgment; or any task beyond AHCA-approved scope.
In-Service Requirements
- HIV/AIDS Training (per AHCA requirement)
- Current CPR Certification (online renewal acceptable only with in-person skills verification)
- Annual competency evaluations by supervising RN

Qualifications
- Current Florida Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate
- Successful Level 2 AHCA Background Screening
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Professional, dependable, and compassionate attitude
- Ability to communicate clearly in English (bilingual a plus)
