American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ED/Med-Surg Swing position at an acute care hospital in North Dakota, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience with night shift and every-other-weekend availability.

Works in a combined ED and Med-Surg Swing unit within an acute care hospital setting
-
22-bed unit serving a general patient population across ED and swing bed levels of care
-
Patient ratios are 1:4 for acute care, 1:6 for swing beds, and 1:4 in the ED
-
RNs are responsible for reading telemetry strips
-
Respiratory equipment in use includes nebulizers, O2 (nasal and mask), ventilator (ED and transport use only), and CPAP (patient-supplied for swing bed patients)

RNs are required to titrate drips
-
Charting is done in Epic; experience is expected
-
12-hour night shifts (7p–7a)

Every-other-weekend requirement

Every-other-holiday requirement

Floating required to ED holds as needed; may also be assigned charge nurse duties

First to float policy applies

Flex/standby time may be required

No specific scrub color required — any color is acceptable

Active ND or Compact (NLC) RN license required; must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses are not accepted

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; pending certifications are not accepted

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

At least 1 year of Med-Surg experience required

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

A copy of a valid driver's license is required for consideration

2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, each including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Candidate will provide nursing care across both ED and Med-Surg Swing bed patient populations

Unit has a charge nurse and a clinical interview is part of the offer process
-
Unit-specific orientation is provided

Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past 12 months; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
