Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Case Manager to join our team at the John Tyler ASAP. In this role, you will be responsible for the management, monitoring, and supervision of individuals on probation for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and Reckless Driving offenses. This position will also prepare court reports and other documents related to monitoring participants and will testify in court. The Case Manager will be responsible for evaluating all aspects of program participation towards completion of program requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and document the eligibility of clients for services and programs offered by the office.
- Accurately update case files and ensure all client information is entered into our database in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with other staff to schedule appointments as necessary.
- Provide information and resources to clients regarding probation requirements, rehabilitation programs, and community services.
- Address client inquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Contact courts and other ASAP’s as needed regarding client information, court order requests, and court order corrections.
- Prepare documentation and records to present to the court regarding client’s compliance.
- Testify in court matters.
- Interpreting court orders, DMV compliance summaries, and driving records to ensure that correct services are provided to clients.
- Working to increase fee collections with clients and staff.
- Maintaining accurate records and notes of any interaction with clients via phone, email, or in person.
- Assess clients' needs and develop personalized treatment and case management plans.
- Monitor clients' progress and adjust plans as necessary to facilitate their compliance with probation requirements.
- Conduct orientations for new clients, providing them with important information regarding their probation terms and available resources.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social services, and community resources to provide comprehensive support.
- Document all client interactions, treatment plans, and progress in accordance with organizational and legal standards.
- Provide support and guidance to clients in navigating challenges related to their program requirements.
- Upholding the agency’s Core Values and focusing on the agency’s Mission.
- Pass the Commission on VASAP Certification Exam within the first 90 days of employment.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in criminal justice, psychology, social work or related field preferred but not required.
OR equivalent experience in a court, legal, or probation setting.
Bilingual candidates encouraged
Must be able to conduct interviews, analyze data, and assign appropriate probation terms.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
Proficient in using computer systems, data entry, and case management software.
Knowledge of DWI laws and rehabilitation practices is a plus, but not required.
Ability to time-manage, and work a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in handling sensitive information.
