Vend Alaska is currently seeking an individual to fill a vacancy in our warehouse.
Job title: Order Picker
This is a full time position, with a work schedule of Sunday through Thursday, 8am to 4pm. Overtime may be necessary on occasion due to labor shortages, holiday schedules, or other events.
A Picker spends the bulk of their day pulling items from the warehouse to satisfy a customer or driver order. This is a dynamic position, where you are in constant motion: reaching, lifting, counting, dropping, pulling, and pushing. Speed and accuracy are paramount.
Other tasks include processing new freight, restocking/rotating product, cleaning/sweeping, baling cardboard.
Physical requirements:
⦁ Stand, walk, and manipulate small objects for 7 to 9 hours per day.
⦁ Lift a 30 lb object from the floor, carry for short distance; occasionally lifting above shoulder height.
⦁ Pull a manual pallet jack with typical beverage load (1000#).
Mental requirements:
⦁ Ability to speak/read English, to communicate in an effective manner.
⦁ Perform basic math on the fly (6+3+5=__ )
Other:
⦁ Prior warehouse experience is not required.
⦁ Candidates with clean driving records are encouraged to apply.
⦁ Recent high school graduates are welcome.
⦁ Criminal background checks and drug testing may be required.
