The State Recruiting Office will refer all inquiries regarding this exempt position to the Department of Human Services, Hawaii Public Housing Authority.
This position is located in the Property Management & Maintenance Services Branch. The primary purpose of this position is to analyze proposals for the management of rental properties. This position reviews property management agreements to ensure that all terms and conditions of these agreements are in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations. Monitors contract agreements for compliance. This position also coordinates and/or conducts special inspections, resolves complaints and conducts tenant files reviews to verify compliance with state and federal regulations for housing programs eligibility.
Legal Authorization To Work Requirement: The State of Hawaii requires that all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
Education: Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, social sciences, or closely related field.
Specialized Experience: Minimum two years of specialized experience in property evaluation, operations of residential and/or commercial properties including efficient utilization and maintenance of real property which includes property evaluation, preparation of management proposals, solicitation of tenants, planning and execution of protection and maintenance of buildings and grounds.
Knowledge:
Property management techniques; effective utilization of property management techniques, protection and maintenance of real property; state and federal rules and regulations relating to property management and public housing; public housing and property management contract and lease agreements.
Skills/Abilities:
Establishes positive relationships which gain the cooperation and trust of individuals, property management managers; ability to read and comprehend rules and regulations and interpret their relevance to project operations; use of personal computer.
This position is exempt from civil service. Therefore, if you are appointed to the position, your employment will be considered to be "at will."
