$34–$38/hr · Full-time, W-2, Year-Round · Company Truck & Tools · Home Most Nights
We're hiring one working foreman to run a 4-person crew on underground telecom construction and restoration in the Green Bay / Appleton area. This is a hands-on lead role — you're on the tools with the crew, not watching from the cab. If you can set structures, pull fiber, run restoration to spec, and keep four people safe and productive, we want to talk.
We've run crews here for 6 years with zero layoffs. You'll get equipment that works, materials that show up, and the room to run your crew without someone hovering over your shoulder.
What you'll run
- Lead a 4-person crew day to day — assign the work, set the pace, hold the standard
- Set structures — pedestals, handholes, vaults — to print and to grade
- Pull and place fiber and conduit; support bore and trench operations
- Own restoration: grade, seed, sod, straw, and erosion matting to DOT/municipal spec
- Close tickets clean — photos, quantities, as-builts, locate compliance
- Keep the crew safe: pre-task planning, locates honored, traffic control and confined-space done right
- Keep the truck, trailer, and tools accounted for and job-ready
Where you'll work
- Primary area: Green Bay and Appleton — home most nights
- Occasional trips to the Janesville / Kenosha area — 1–4 nights at a time. Hotel paid directly by us. $40/day per diem on overnight trips.
What we need from you
- At least 2 years leading or running a telecom/utility crew — structure setting, fiber pulling, and restoration (tell us where and on what)
- Valid Class A CDL — you'll drive and tow the crew's rig and equipment trailer
- Able to read prints and locate tickets and turn them into a day's work
- Can hold a crew accountable without running them off — this is the whole job
- Clean-ish driving record (we'll check — minor stuff is usually fine, ask)
- Able to lift 60 lbs repeatedly and work outdoors in heat, cold, and rain
- Show up on time, every day — and get your crew there too
- Willing to travel overnight for occasional Janesville/Kenosha jobs
- Pass pre-employment drug screen — DOT and telecom requirement, not optional
Nice to have (not required)
- OSHA 30, competent-person, confined-space, or flagger certification
- Skid steer, directional drill, or hydroseeder experience
- Prior general foreman experience on utility/telecom builds
What we provide
- Company truck — you don't drive your personal vehicle
- All tools, PPE, fuel, and materials
- Hotel + per diem on travel days
- Weekly pay, direct deposit — $34–$38/hr depending on experience
- Health, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off; paid training
- Paid holidays after 90 days
- Year-round work — no layoffs. 6 years here without a pause. Full 40 every week, winter included; in slow restoration months the crew shifts to pedestal/handhole placement and fiber pulling.
- Room to grow — run this crew well and there's a path to general foreman
Schedule
Monday–Friday, typically 7am–4pm. Some Saturdays in summer. OT at time-and-a-half over 40.
How to apply
Hit Apply. In your application — or your first message to us — tell us three things: the crews you've run, the kind of structures and footage you've handled, and the equipment you're comfortable on. Experienced foremen go straight to the top of the list. We'll call within 48 hours if it's a fit.
