South Portland Housing is looking for a dedicated, service-driven Property Manager to help create safe, welcoming, and well-managed communities. What You’ll Be Doing

Lead the day-to-day operations of assigned affordable housing properties.

Monitor budgets, rent collections, reporting, and overall financial performance.

Coordinate leasing activity, applicant screening, unit showings, and occupancy recommendations.

Maintain compliance with housing regulations, fair housing requirements, and agency policies.

Partner with maintenance staff to support inspections, repairs, and safe, attractive properties.

Build positive resident relationships and respond professionally to questions and concerns.

Work closely with staff and community partners to strengthen property operations and resident support.
Requirements:
What You Bring

Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Five or more years of multifamily property management experience.

Knowledge of affordable housing regulations, federal housing laws, and compliance practices.

LIHTC certification desired; COS, PHM, ARM, or CPM credentials are a plus.

Experience with the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program preferred.

Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in an office setting with regular computer and phone use.

This role includes regular travel between properties and periods of walking, standing, climbing stairs, and conducting inspections.

Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
